The World Swimming Coaches Association asked during the Pan Pacific Championships in Atlanta at the weekend for more stringent out-of-competition drug testing, and repeated calls for the suspension of China from international competition.
A panel of eight athletes from Australia, the United States and Canada and members of the 36-country, 1,100-member WSCA criticised the lack of response by Fina, the sport's international governing body, to drug offences by China's swimmers. China has had 19 swimmers test positive for drugs since 1990.
