Dankeston, trained by Michael Bell and ridden by Cash Asmussen, finished third in the Group 3 Prix de la Jonchere at Longchamp yesterday, writes Ian Davies.
Asmussen moved the British raider up into second place behind the leader Manninamix at half way, but the pair were outpaced in the straight.
Android was sent through by Olivier Peslier to take command over two furlongs out and this combination stayed on gamely to hold off Manninamix by a length with Dankeston one and a half lengths behind.
Asmussen said: "My horse ran well but needs a mile and a quarter."
The result boosted the chances of Blackwater in today's Group One Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly as Android finished sixth to Maurice Zilber's runner in April.
