The Emirates Cup friendly tournament concludes today, as Arsenal take on Wolfsburg.
The Gunners, though, already have one hand on the trophy, as additional points are gained from every goal scored.
This means Arsenal are on nine points after they defeated Lyon 6-0 yesterday.
Arsenal have not won the Emirates Cup since 2010. The competition was won by Valencia last year.
Points System
The following points system shall apply for the tournament:
3 points for a win
1 point for a draw
1 point for each goal
0 points for a defeat
If two or more teams finish equal on points, the following criteria shall apply:
a) better goal difference
b) if still level - greater number of goals scored
c) if still level - greater number of shots on target (as determined by the Emirates Cup Tournament Committee)
It has been reported that the reasoning behind giving an additional point for every goal is to encourage attacking football in the friendly and create a more competitive fixture.
