BLAIR CASTLE: fifth to Midnight Hour in a Wincanton novice hurdle on Thursday, not beaten far behind some well- regarded types, after fading in the testing conditions on his jumping debut. A miler on the Flat, who finished a length second to leading juvenile hurdler Silver Wedge as a two-year-old, he is thought good enough to be left in the Triumph Hurdle and can win races on better ground this spring. (G Balding)
BUCKBOARD BOUNCE: divided Country Member and Cool Ground (both receiving a stone) when second on his British debut over three miles at Sandown on Friday. This ex-Irish chaser can go one better, especially granted the shorter distances over which he has done his winning. (G Richards)
CROPREDY LAD: Put some poor displays behind him with a fair third to Montebel and Fair Crossing at Warwick on Monday. Progressing. (J Webber)
