Point-To-Point: Double Honour may return

The pre-New Year programme moves back down the west country today when the North Cornwall stage the weekend's only meeting at Wadebridge.

The ladies' open (1.10) could see the experienced handicap chaser Double Honour make a successful start to his new career between the flags. The versatile eight-year-old has won nearly £240,000 in prize money over Flat and jumps and, as he is owned by Philip Hobbs's wife Sarah, has the advantage of professional training.

He will not have things all his own way, however, as prolific winner Sandy Duff is also among the entry's though he needed a run last season. Phar City, another in a NH yard, is a ladies' entry but has the option of an easier-looking opportunity in the men's open (12.35).

Bob Buckler's nine-year-old won by 25 lengths in the fastest time of the day at Tweseldown last Sunday and clearly appreciates the smaller point-to-point fences.
