India name three newcomers

India's selectors yesterday named three newcomers in a 20-man pool for the home series against New Zealand in October - the opening batsman Vikram Rathore, wicketkeeper Samir Dighe, and leg-spinner Sairaj Bahutule. The first Test in Bangalore starts 18 October, the second is in Madras (25- 29 October), and the third is in Cuttack on 8-12 November.

Mohammed Akram will make his Pakistan debut by replacing Waqar Younis for the second Test against Sri Lanka in Faisalabad, starting today. Pakistan won the first Test by an innings and 40 runs.
