Kelly Holmes returned to competitive action yesterday after an injury-dogged Olympic season to win a road race at Hastings, Sussex. The 26-year-old beat the course record for the 10km event by over two minutes as she won in 34min 54sec.
Romania's Elena Fidatov yesterday became the first runner to notch two wins in this season's International Amateur Athletic Federation world cross challenge with a sprint finish to take the 5.45 km women's race in Amorebieta, Spain.
