May 1995: Dalglish leads Blackburn to their first English title in 81 years despite last-day defeat at Anfield. Dalglish named Manager of the Year. Dalglish steps down as manager, handing reins to Ray Harford, and becomes director of football.
Dec 1995: Blackburn finish European Champions' League with just one win from six games.
Jan 1996: Blackburn beaten in FA Cup third round replay by Ipswich.
May 1996: Blackburn lose five of first eight Premiership games, but finish seventh after being 17th at one stage.
Aug 1996: Shearer sold to Newcastle for world record pounds 15m. Dalglish leaves Blackburn "by mutual agreement".
