Phillip McCallen pushed himself through the pain barrier to clinch his fifth victory in the Isle of Man TT races. The 32-year-old Ulsterman led throughout to win the rain-delayed Total Oils TT Formula One race, despite suffering blistered hands. McCallen won by 51 seconds from his Honda team-mate Nick Jefferies, while Michael Rutter brought his Ducati home in third place. Sadly Steve Tannock, from Bradford, was killed in a crash on the third lap.
