The Football Association of Ireland is expected to name a new national team manager in succession to Jack Charlton at a press conference at Lansdowne Road in Dublin this afternoon.
It is widely anticipated that Mick McCarthy, the Millwall manager, will be appointed, following the recent withdrawal of Wimbledon's Joe Kinnear, the other principal contender.
McCarthy, who won 57 caps for the Republic, has been the favourite for the post since Charlton stepped down in December.
