Brian Moore, the England hooker, is reconsidering his decision to retire after the World Cup.
Moore, who could have been playing his last game in tomorrow's quarter- final against Australia at Newlands in Cape Town, said yesterday: "I have had a long chat with Jack Rowell [the manager] and the upshot is that I am going to review my future.
"There are various reasons - which I won't go into - but I am thinking of continuing."
The news will upset the Australian wing David Campese, who had been issuing derisory statements about England in the build-up to the game. Told that Moore was going to retire, he responded simply: "Good".
Meanwhile, Max Brito, the Ivory Coast wing who was paralysed in the game with Tonga, will receive all the proceeds from ITV's phone-in competition today.
