Narendra Hirwani, recalled to the Test scene after a five-year absence, will be one of two leg spinners in India's team to play New Zealand in the third and final Test beginning today. The New Zealand coach, Glenn Turner, said the recently laid pitch at Cuttack appeared like "rolled mud" and expected it to deteriorate, so New Zealand have added Matthew Hart, the left-arm spinner, and hope that Shane Thomson, the injured off- spinner, will be fit to play as cover.
