A live counter-terrorism exercise to test how effectively emergency services respond to an alert will take place before the London Olympics.

Police and other services will respond to mock acts of terrorism and other "simulated scenarios" across the country during the exercise in February, Theresa May, the Home Secretary, said yesterday.
