The Professional Footballers' Association is to sue the magazine, Business Age, and some Sunday newspapers after they revealed details of PFA accounts and chief executive Gordon Taylor's earnings.

Taylor said yesterday: "I was astonished to see my tax details covering most of a page of a newspaper. It was a cheap shot.

"We decided to sue as soon as the magazine appeared as the figures quoted are totally inaccurate. I feel there is a campaign to discredit the PFA and its leader."
