The inaugural Cornwall Grand Prix at Falmouth on Sunday is the third round of the United Kingdom Offshore Championships. The Texan Charles Burnett leads the mighty Class II and will be racing in his 36ft monohull, Buzzi Buzzard, a monster capable of 100mph. He will, however, have more competition this time as three new Class II boats make their debut. The race starts at 1pm off Pendennis Point, lasting 21/2 hours.
Where to watch: Spectators will have a good view from Pendennis Point, Castle Drive and Cliff Road, Falmouth. There will be a full commentary throughout the race. The powerboats are expected to arrive in Falmouth today and will be on display on Killigrew Quay at Port Pendennis Harbour Village. Tomorrow at 4.30pm, there will be a parade of the boats through the Moor and the High Street.
