LEAP OF FAITH: so outpaced was this filly in the early stages on her racing debut on the sand at Southwell a week ago, that she appeared certain to finish out of the frame. But the two-year-old made up a remarkable amount of late ground to be second to the fast-breaking favourite, Mazeeka. Should know more about the game next time. (D Loder)
MAMALAMA: has not been discredited in decent novice hurdling company, including when unseating her rider at the last flight on her most recent run at Towcester. Was running on into third place behind the winner, Strath Royal, at the time. Must have a fine chance when put in handicaps. (J J Bridger)
PADDY CHALK: well backed in a six-furlong race at Newbury, but faded out of contention after running well until nearing the final furlong. Compensation awaits on firm ground over a distance of five furlongs. (L J Holt)
