DEE LADY: overcame a three-month absence to sprint away with a Beverley maiden on Thursday in a style which suggests she is on the upgrade. Her speed over the minimum trip belies her pedigree, by Deploy out of a Dunbeath mare, and she may produce further improvement over longer distances. (W G M Turner)
MAMLAKAH: gained a decisive success from a large field of maidens at Leicester on Monday in a manner befitting the heavy support she received in the betting ring. Her trainer intends to enter her for the top juvenile fillies' events, in which she may well prove capable of holding her own against more established stars. (H Thomson Jones)
