RIVA: another who looked set to record an impressive win on heavy ground, only to weaken close home. A well-backed favourite at Lingfield, this six-year-old faded on the approach to the last flight. Finishing second to the useful Giventime was no disgrace, however, especially as the race was over a trip three furlongs longer than his previous runs.
