CASTILIAN QUEEN: this three-year-old filly ran too freely when trying in vain to make all the running on her seasonal debut in a mile race at Ascot. Dropped back to seven furlongs at Newmarket last week, she was held up at the rear of a competitive field before running on promisingly to take fourth place close home. A valuable mile handicap looks within her grasp. (J Gosden).

PROFIT A PRENDRE: distinctly unprofitable on last two outings when beaten in photo-finishes at Salisbury and Leicester. Especially frustrating for supporters of this eight-year-old as he was unlucky in running on both occasions. Should be given a chance to recover losses. (D A Wilson).

SUPER MORNING: only a 20-1 chance when finishing well into fourth place behind the heavily-backed Thimbalina in an amateur rider's race at Salisbury. First sign of form so far this season and now favourably handicapped. Looks certainly capable of winning a modest handicap in the near future. (G Balding).
