Racing: For the Notebook: A weekly list of horses to follow
CHAIN DANCE: had trouble finding a gap before staying on well into second behind Brigante Di Cielo at Ascot on Friday, too late to mount a serious challenge. Still improving and on a winning mark given better luck in running. (M Stoute).
HARPOON LOUIE: stayed on into fifth under considerate handling on his handicap debut in a seven-furlong nursery at York on Wednesday. Looks likely to show improvement with every race, and his shrewd handler still has time to find a contest over eight furlongs or further. (M H Easterby).
MUSTAKIM: this 95,000gns colt made a promising debut at Folkestone. Saw plenty of daylight on the outside of the field and, despite being tenderly handled, still finished third to Barik. Capable of winning an autumn maiden race. (R Armstrong).
VISAGA: mixed in good company in bumper races last winter. In need of race and ran too freely when finishing a tired second to Greenhil Raffles at Worcester on Saturday but jumped with impressive fluency. (D Nicholson).
