Racing: High five for Cross The Border
Cross The Border made it five wins from his last seven outings - all within the space of six weeks - when taking the Pergoda Apprentice Handicap at Musselburgh yesterday. The David Nicholls-trained gelding, ridden by Paul Roberts, defied top weight as he held on well from Pallium. "We'll give him a rest now - he's not going to take up his engagement at Sandown tomorrow," said Nicholls' wife Alex Greaves. "But he's in at Chester on Saturday and it all depends what his owner Peter Savill wants to do."
Ladbrokes report interest in Plaisir D'Amour for the Ayr Gold Cup Handicap on 20 September. Pasternak and Labeq have been well backed with Ladbrokes for the Cambridgeshire on 4 October.
