Racing: Man marked for return

NICKY HENDERSON confirmed yesterday that Remittance Man will run in the Emblem Chase at Kempton on Saturday. The champion two- mile chaser of 1991-92 has not been on a racecourse since injuring his off-fore tendon in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon at the beginning of last season.

'Two miles round Kempton is not ideal for a horse that needs a stiffer test but I want to get a run into him and this is virtually the last chance we've got,' Henderson said. 'He is in good form and he will not be far away. The others will know they have been in a race.'

The 10 entries for Saturday's race also include Deep Sensation and Wonder Man, second to current Champion Chase favourite Viking Flagship in the Game Spirit Chase. That Newbury contest had been earmarked for Remittance Man but the heavy ground forced his trainer to look elsewhere.

Henderson will be hoping that Richard Dunwoody can resume his partnership with the 10-year-old but this depends on Martin Pipe's plans.

One of the season's leading novice chasers, See More Indians, will continue his Cheltenham preparation in Wincanton's Jim Ford Chase on Thursday, where he could clash with Second Schedual.
