Racing: Punters guide
Simon Holt of Channel 4 Racing analyses today's International Handicap
Russian Revival: Second to Bold Edge in the Cork & Orrery (6f) at royal meeting and second to Diktat at Goodwood over this trip.
Sugarfoot: Course winner (1m) and several good efforts here besides - sixth to Showboat in the Hunt Cup. Trip sharp enough.
Showboat: Six-length winner of the Royal Hunt Cup but up 14lb since the Royal meeting.
Late Night Out: Winner at Haydock in May but struggling since.
Tajasur: Recent Newbury (6f) win boosted when second, Harmonic Way, won Stewards' Cup. May need patient ride at this trip.
Sunstreak: Triple winner in 1998 and solid efforts this term despite being hard to place. Better at 1m.
Jo Mell: Winner of this last year and, while apparently below his best this term, has been laid out for a repeat. Only 3lb higher now.
Cool Edge: Lightly raced this term. Vulnerable to improvers.
Ho Leng: Last year's Bunbury Cup winner who ran best race of season when second at Newmarket last time. Well handicapped.
Mubrik: Modest fifth on only start this year - but chances on fourth to White Heart over course and distance last September.
Peculiarity: Looked exposed at 1m last time. Drop to 7f may suit.
Grangeville: Impressive at Newmarket last time. Tougher here but goes well for Kieren Fallon.
Refuse To Lose: Effective front-runner here - won last time and 1998 Hunt Cup. Vulnerable at 7f.
Cubism: Good win at Haydock in May. Unproven beyond 6f.
Caballero: Win and two seconds in recent conditions events. Harder to assess in this handicap.
Cretan Gift: Returned to form winning here (6f) last time - but has never won over further.
Swallow Flight: Won at York (7f) in May but otherwise a near-misser and runs in snatches.
Ettrick: Good fourth over 1m at Newmarket last time and drop in distance could suit. Unexposed.
Indian Lodge: Two wins and two defeats in smart races this season. Just caught over 1m at Goodwood and this 7f could be ideal.
Therhea: Best on soft but third on good to firm last month.
Bartex: Successful over 1m at Longchamp (holding) in April.
Matin De Printemps: Winner at Saint-Cloud (1m, heavy) and second on firm at Longchamp (7f).
Young Josh: Third in the Wokingham (6f) and badly drawn here last time. Should stay 7f.
Nomore Mr Niceguy: Capable on turf and all-weather. Hard task.
Silca Blanka: No show behind Harmonic Way in Stewards' Cup.
Dilkusha: Twice a winner this term but this looks too tough.
Petrus: Improver who gets just a 3lb penalty for beating 15 rivals at Goodwood last week.
Conclusion: INDIAN LODGE looked the winner a furlong out over a mile last week and this improving horse can gain consolation now dropped in distance.
