JASON WEAVER was referred to Jockey Club headquarters at Portman Square yesterday after twice falling foul of the new system governing the official declaration of jockeys. The young apprentice was reported by the stewards at both Redcar and Warwick after missing rides he was declared for at the two tracks.
Weaver could not make the weight to ride Tarmon at Warwick and was intending to ride at Redcar instead. However, he had to be replaced by Steve Wood in the seller at Redcar when he failed to arrive in time. The horse, Nellie's Gamble, won at 50-1.
The stewards at Redcar interviewed Weaver and reported him because they were dissatisfied with his explanation.
