Rugby Union: David Rees the Cross Keys player-coach retires

David Rees, the Cross Keys player-coach who won a Wales B cap in 1988 against France, has retired from playing after two major knee operations.

Saracens have appointed Trevor Garwood, 29, as their marketing and commercial director. He was formerly Newcastle United FC's marketing manager.

Chester Williams, one of South Africa's leading players in their 1995 World Cup triumph but injured last season, was included yesterday in the initial Springbok training squad preparing for the Lions tour.
