English rugby union officials will meet at yet another emergency meeting next Wednesday in a bid to close the gap between them and their European partners over the pounds 87.5m BSkyB deal.
On Tuesday at a meeting in Cardiff, the Rugby Football Union was told, after failing to reach agreement with the other Home Unions, to reconsider its position and come back with new proposals to be reinstated into the Five Nations' Championship.
Last night the full Five Nations Committee - including France - held a meeting in London and again emphasised that the onus was entirely on the English to find a settlement.
The FNC said: "The Five Nations committee are now awaiting the outcome of a special executive meeting of the Rugby Football Union."
