A record number of yachts were docking in Tarbert yesterday for the Rover Series, the biggest of the annual Scottish regattas. The first was held in July 1974 at the Crinan / Tobermory access, attracting some 35 yachts. This year 278 are on Loch Fyne, home of the regatta since 1976. All race for four days over Olympic and coastal courses, with the most outstanding in any one class being named the overall winner.
