Peter Ebdon eased into the quarter-finals of the Regal Masters yesterday, by beating a qualifier, Alan Burnett, in Motherwell.
Ebdon, the world No 10, faced a potentially awkward opponent in the 17- year-old Scottish amateur, but Ebdon's experience told as he brushed Burnett aside 5-0 in 90 minutes.
"Alan acquitted himself really well and he looks a good player in the making," said the 25-year-old Londoner. "His only problem was inexperience and he can only change that by playing in events like this. He has done well to get this far and he certainly wasn't disgraced."
