PETER BLAKE, co-skipper of ENZA New Zealand which is attempting to set a round the world record, has been confined to his bunk for five days with severe bruising after being thrown when ENZA skipped off the front of one wave at 25 knots and ploughed straight into the back of a steeper one, stopping dead. 'For a while we thought I'd cracked three ribs, but they seem to be just badly bruised,' he said. ENZA is 600 miles off South West Australia and more than two days ahead of schedule in its attempt to beat the record of 79 days.
