THE Whitbread Round the World race jury in Auckland yesterday rejected an appeal from Dennis Conner's Winston against the decision to drop the American yacht from second to third place in the overall standings. On Thursday, the jury decided to dock four hours from Winston's time for its role in coming to the aid of the disabled Italian boat, Brooksfield, during the second leg of the race.
