RODNEY MARTIN, the world No 3, has withdrawn from the Super Series tournament in Zurich. The chances of Peter Marshall of reaching the semi-final stage have been boosted as a result. Marshall can lose to Jansher Khan and qualify by beating the other two in his group.

HERTS Country Club at Welwyn Garden City has been selected to host the national championships from 13 to 18 January.
