CHRIS DITTMAR is standing down as chairman of the Professional Squash Association at next month's annual general meeting in Karachi. His withdrawal after three years in the post will increase speculation about the competitive future of the world No 2 who is recovering in Adelaide after the latest of several operations on a career-threatening knee injury.

THE European Open tournament, scheduled for 2 to 7 November in Kiel, has been scrapped because of a lack of sponsorship, the Professional Squash Association said yesterday.
