The number of years Jack Newton had to wait for compensation for losing his arm in a propeller accident. Newton, who lost a play-off to Tom Watson in golf's 1975 Open Championship, sued the pilot - his friend Ronald Leslie Lake - and the Australian government. The claims were settled yesterday.
