The number of people who will be working at the Open Championship at Royal St George's, Sandwich this week. They include 180 schoolchildren collecting litter, 300 scoreboard operators and 2,000 catering staff. Most of the 700 crowd marshals will be supplied by local clubs, but one hole will be handled each day by members of the Kent Police Golf Society.
