Dads vs. Lads

Your chance to play against some of rugby’s greats.
Many rugby dads may have resigned themselves to the fact that their own dreams of rugby glory are far behind them, and that now it’s down to their kids to fulfill their thwarted ambitions. Next year, those rugby dads are being given a second chance to shine, and play against some of their heroes in a one-off charity match.
In 2009, the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens celebrates its 70th birthday. On the Friday of the week-long event in March 2009, a “Dads and Lads” fundraising sevens game will be contested between a team of former internationals (the “Lads”) and a team of dads who will have to bid for their place in a 15-man squad. Rolling substitutions will see that everyone gets a game.
After the match, a birthday lunch will be held, with entertainment and some “light fundraising”. Rosslyn Park is encouraging old boys who competed in the schools 7s in their youth to take part in this event. Individuals wanting to participate must bid for their place and position in an online auction that will take place later this year. The aim of the event is to have fun while raising funds for the future expansion of the Rossyln Park National Schools Sevens. For your chance to play alongside some of the most famous “Lads” in rugby, visit www.rosslynpark.co.uk
