Apple event on 9 March: Apple Watch expected to launch

The rumoured Beats music streaming service may also be announced

Apple has sent out invitations for a special event on March 9.

The event, which will be held at the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts in San Francisco, was teased with the line 'Spring Forward.'

It's thought that the Apple Watch, first unveiled last September, will be launched, with the company having long-suggested the release date would fall around March or April 2015.

Details are vague at the moment, but here's what we should and shouldn't expect 11 days from now:

Time for the Apple Watch

An official launch for the tech giant's first foray into wearable technology is widely expected at the event.

The Apple Watch, for which there are three known versions, was demonstrated by Tim Cook and co. at the launch of the iPhone 6 last September.

Pricing details for the regular and the gold editions are likely forthcoming, with the Sport already announced to cost $350.

A recent report in the Wall Street Journal said the watch will arrive in April, with the company having ordered around 5 million of them.

Beats music service might be a go

Zane Lowe was drafted earlier this year to run the rumoured new streaming service, an overhaul of the old iTunes involving last year's major Apple acquisition: Beats.

It's speculated that the project will involve musical artists creating their own streams, like "custom radio stations".

Another MacBook Air is probable

The Applesphere is convinced a new 12-inch version of Apple's thinnest laptop will get a boost: the Retina MacBook Air.

And there probably won't be a new iPhone, a new iPad, or a new MacBook Pro

Those products were launched just a few months ago to great fanfare.
