The Steam Network digital download chart for the week ending Sunday, July 11 showed signs of recovering from the impact of discounted items put on sale during the week before.
New titles APB and Monkey Island 2 Special Edition made their way into the upper reaches of the chart.
APB is a criminals vs policemen game, bearing similarities to Crackdown and the Grand Theft Auto series, though lukewarm reviews indicate that it may take some time to shine as further refinements are added.
Monkey Island 2 is a spruced-up version of the 1991 classic that further cemented the reputations of Tim Schafer ( Day of the Tentacle, Brütal Legend) and Ron Gilbert ( Manic Mansion, DeathSpank).
The graphics, voice work, and soundtrack have all been updated, though players can revert to the look and sound of the original if they so choose.
The Special Edition was also released for iPhone and iPod, PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
