There's a wide range of games in the running for fan votes at this year's Golden Joystick Awards, from blockbusters like Black Ops and FIFA 11 to cult hits Yakuza 4 and Deadly Premonition.
Black Ops and FIFA 11 are both nominees for Ultimate Game Of The Year, an award within reach for 19 titles including Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, L.A. Noire, Portal 2, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, and the 3DS's Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
A new free-to-play category sets the massively multiplayer online worlds of Allods Online, World of Tanks and RuneScape against Facebook sensations CityVille, Empires & Allies, and Zuma Blitz.
The Mobile and Download awards both have plenty of nominees to chose from, with Real Racing 2, Cut The Rope, Infinity Blade and Tiny Wings in Mobile and Pac-Man CE DX, Minecraft, Trenched and Lara Croft in Download.
Of all the games in contention, Deadly Premonition's review scores are the most diverse, ranging from 20 right up to 100 on Metacritic.
A good number of nominees have already won plaudits at other ceremonies such as the BAFTA Video Game Awards, Game Developer Conference, or DICE Summit.
The Golden Joysticks are to be awarded on October 21, with votes being taken at goldenjoystick.com.
