Millions of BlackBerry users across Europe, the Middle East and Africa were cut off yesterday after servers in the UK went down.
Customers complained that they could not access the BlackBerry Messenger service – one of the handsets' main selling points – and many temporarily found that only the text-messaging service worked. BlackBerry manufacturer RIM was investigating the cause.
