A council has admitted it could spend up to £38,000 on iPads while looking to cut 1,000 jobs.
Leicester City Council said four of its elected members would be testing Apple's latest gadget, each costing up to £699. If the trial is successful, the local authority will consider providing its remaining 50 members with the tablet computers next year, leaving local taxpayers with a bill of up to £38,000.
