People on Twitter are gearing up for this year's mammoth Black Friday sales in the US. "#blackfriday" has risen to the number one topic on Twitter's trending topic chart on November 25 as people tweet about the items they want to buy during America's famous day-after-Thanksgiving sales.
"who's excited for the #blackfriday sale?," "i wanna buy a camera! haha what's everyone else buying?" and "anything that requires you to sleep on concrete for 2 days so u can afford it, you shouldn't have" tweet microbloggers in preparation for the Black Friday sales.
In Thanksgiving tradition, second place is taken by the hashtag "#thankful" as people share the things they are thankful for. "Gobble Gobble" (the noise a turkey makes) is in seventh place.
"Thanksgiving Everyone" is also in the charts in sixth place as Twitter users wish everyone a "Happy Thanksgiving."
"#blackgooglesearches" is in third place, "#happybirthdaybiebs" is in fourth place, Australian Cricket player "Peter Siddle" is in fifth place and the name of Venezuelan actress and former Miss Universe winner "Alicia Machado" moves down one place to number eight.
Ninth and tenth places in Twitter's most talked about topics are taken by rock band Queen's lead singer "Freddie Mercury" on the anniversary of his death and the name of former member of the US House of Representatives "Tom DeLay."
