Trick reveals how you can use backspace on iPhone calculator

A video showing off a little-known feature on the iPhone calculator has proven a major hit with users.

It appears that plenty of Apple customers were completely unaware of the app’s swipe functionality.

Instead of hitting the C key and completely resetting a sum whenever you mistype a figure, you can instead delete the last number you entered simply by swiping either left or right on the calculator display panel.

Twitter user CENSORED dialogue posted footage of the feature in action, and the video has provoked extremely positive reactions.

It’s a straightforward bit of functionality that will come in handy the next time you sort out your monthly bills.

Though it’s been around for at least five years, the attention that CENSORED dialogue’s update has received indicates just how much demand there was for the feature amongst oblivious users.

Apple this week reported a surprise decline in iPhone sales for the quarter ending 1 April, having sold 50.76 million of the devices during the three-month period.

Some strategists believe this is because customers are delaying buying a new device, due to the impending launch of the tenth anniversary edition iPhone.

However, recent reports suggest these prospective customers may have to wait longer than they might think for the new iPhone.

Though the handset is due to be unveiled in September, mass production might only kick off in October, and it may only end up becoming widely available at the beginning of next year.
