Logan Paul comeback: Controversial vlogger announces YouTube return with video teaser

Internet 'personality' prepares for his return to video-sharing platform one month after much-criticised 'suicide forest' video

Logan Paul, the controversial YouTube star widely criticised over online footage featuring a dead man’s body, has announced his return to the website with a video teaser.

Posting on Twitter, the 22-year-old shared a clip with followers to say he was set to begin vlogging again.

“THE RETURN”, Mr Paul wrote when posting the 25-second video, which ended with the word “TOMORROW”.

The YouTuber had taken a break from the platform after he was roundly condemned in January for a video shot in Aokigahara - a Japanese woodland also known as the “suicide forest”.

Footage, which has since been deleted, showed Paul and several friends discovering the corpse of a man thought to have taken his own life in the forest.

The vlogger was then filmed standing next to the body while making jokes and laughing.

Paul is one of the most popular YouTube personalities in the world, with more than 16 million subscribers to his channel.

Fallout from the video caused YouTube to remove him from its “Preferred Programme”, which allows companies to put advertisements next to the site's most popular content creators.

Paul has since issued two apologies for the incident and released a seven-minute video entitled “Suicide: Be Here Tomorrow”, following his attempts to educated himself on suicide.

In the video, Mr Paul stated his “ignorance on the subject” was “part of the problem” and that he would be donating $1m to “various suicide organisations”.
