Microsoft Teams is down across the world

Microsoft services, including Teams and Office 365, went down, the company announced.

“We’re investigating an issue with Microsoft Teams impacting Europe and Asia”, an official Microsoft account tweeted.

“We’ve confirmed that this issue affects users globally. We’re reviewing monitoring telemetry and recent changes to isolate the source of the issue.”

Users on social media reported problems with the desktop app, on both Windows 10 and MacOS, as well as the browser version of the video-conferencing tool.

According to DownDetector, the issues began at approximately 10:30am GMT, with users reporting log-in and server issues.

The problem, however, did not appear to have affected other Microsoft services such as its cloud computing platform Azure or gaming service Xbox Live.

"We have resolved an issue that affected access to Microsoft Teams for some customers and services are now running normally”, a Microsoft spokesperson said. They did not elaborate more on the cause of the problem.

The software giant’s services went down earlier this month too; on 2 April, Azure Portal and Azure services experienced issues that disrupted all of its products - including its gaming platforms, Skype, and OneDrive.

It did not affect Microsoft Exchange business accounts, however, which had not been moved onto Azure yet.
