The Last of Us 2 accidentally revealed by developer Naughty Dog
The game’s writer indicated that another game was coming — and then seemed to get in a bit of a muddle

The Last of Us 2 might have accidentally been unveiled by its writer, during an entirely unrelated livestream.
There have been rumours before that a sequel was in development, but members of the team behind it seem to have all but confirmed that it’s on its way.
During a livestream for the new Uncharted game, The Nathan Drake Collection, one of the team made reference to a colleague, Eric Baldwin, the lead animator.
"All the facial animation in the Uncharted series was led up by Eric, here," says Josh Scherr, the game’s writer, "and the first The Last of Us. Uh, did I say the first The Last of Us?” Scherr then seems to stumble a little, neither clarifying or expanding on the comment.
It’s possible that Scherr was referring to the other games in the Last of Us series — the PlayStation 4 remastered version, or downloadable content like Left Behind — but the awkwardness and lack of clarification after the slip seem to suggest that it isn’t.
Previous rumours including comments from actor Nolan North seemed to suggest that the game was on its way. But other members of the team suggested soon after that its future remained uncertain.
It’s unlikely that the next game will be released anytime soon, since developer Naughty Dog’s next big release Uncharted 4, which is due for release in March 2016.
