'Mini-strokes' URL redirected to Trump website after hospital visit questions

Online traffic to the domain 'mini-strokes.com' has been redirected to Donald Trump's official website after the US president denied having a stroke.

It is not clear who is behind the stunt but online pranksters also recently redirected a URL for anti-fascist organisation Antifa to Democratic candidate Joe Biden's website.

Questions surrounding the health of the president relate to an ambiguous hospital trip he made to the Walter Reed health facility last year.

In a newly published book by New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt, it is suggested that the hospital visit was more serious than officially reported.

"Word went out in the West Wing for the vice president to be on standby to take over the powers of the presidency temporarily if Trump had to undergo a procedure that would have required him to be anaesthetised," the book stated.

The specific stroke claims appear to stem from a single tweet on Tuesday from political analyst Joe Lockhart, who questioned whether the reason for the unannounced hospital visit was a stroke.

"Did @realDonaldTrump have a stroke which he is hiding from the American public?" he tweeted.

There is no evidence to suggest that Trump's hospital visit related to a a stroke - a point that Mr Lockhart clarified in a follow-up tweet, stating "no reporting just a question."

Trump nevertheless responded to the question by denying he had ever had such health issues and insinuating that any such claims are part of a media conspiracy against him.

He tweeted: "It never ends! Now they are trying to say that your favourite president, me, went to Walter Reed Medical Center, having suffered a series of mini-strokes. Never happened to THIS candidate - FAKE NEWS."

Trump's physician Dr Sean Conley also released a statement attesting to the president's health, claiming he "has not experienced nor been evaluated for" any strokes, mini-strokes or cardiovascular emergencies.

"The President remains healthy and I have no concerns about his ability to maintain the rigorous schedule ahead of him," Dr Conley said.

"As stated in my last report, I expect him to remain fit to execute the duties of the presidency."
