Scientists at Harvard University have released this video of a penny-sized flying robot, based on the body of a fly.

Researchers at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) said Robo-fly could eventually be used in search and rescue operations.

Electrical engineer Robert J. Wood, principal investigator of the RoboBee project, said: "This is what I have been trying to do for literally the last 12 years."
