Google, Verizon and Net Neutrality
Google and Verizon announced a joint policy proposal that, if implemented, could result in "a first-class and second-class system of packet delivery" on wireless networks. The announcement angered many bloggers and resulted in headlines such as "Google Goes ‘Evil,'" "Not Neutrality: Did Google & Verizon Just Stab The Internet In The Heart?" and "Google-Verizon plan: Why you should worry."

Oracle sues Google over Android
"In developing Android, Google knowingly, directly and repeatedly infringed Oracle's Java-related intellectual property," stated Oracle this week as it filed a high-profile lawsuit against the internet giant.

Voice Actions for Android
Google introduced Voice Actions for Android this week, a series of spoken commands that enable users to control their mobile with their voice. The voice actions help consumers using an Android 2.2 device to send texts, play music, make calls, send email messages, look up websites, write notes, and find directions using just their voice.

Apple TV
According to fresh rumors in the blogs, Apple is apparently working on transforming its "hobby" set-top box into a valuable TV addition with its next refresh. Digitimes senior analyst Mingchi says the next edition of Apple TV "will not include a hard drive. The new device will adopt a user interface similar to the iPhone with support for social networking websites, network multimedia and the App Store. Mass production of the device will start in December," while Engadget was told that Apple would be "releasing a $99 version of the set top box" that would support applications but would not be capable of playing full HD videos.

Sony Ericsson Android gaming platform
Rumors about a part phone, part gaming platform smartphone made by Sony started circling the blogs this week. The device is supposedly an Android smartphone with slide-out PSP Go controls in the place of a full QWERTY keyboard.
