If you fancy heading out of London tomorrow, consider a day out in Blackpool. For Sooty's 50th anniversary, Virgin is putting on a special Sooty Express (0891 600 2222) from London Euston to Blackpool, Sooty's home town.

The day return costs pounds 31 - pounds 9 less than the usual return ticket price - but to qualify you must be accompanying a teddy bear-carrying child, for whom the journey is free.

The final destination, once in Blackpool, is The World's Biggest Teddy Bears' Picnic at Blackpool Zoo. Transport to the zoo is included in the train ticket, but the entertainment costs an additional pounds 1.
