BRINNGG] Yes, it's Bert, the Captain's man at the BBC, drawing my attention to a recent advert for a clerk to work on the Film '94 tv programme. The clerk is expected to attend evening press screenings, select suitable clips for the programme, provide background for the great Barry 'Bazza' Norman's script, maintain an extensive filing system and furnish assistant producers with necessary information, all for pounds 13,000 a year, top whack. One interviewee got the impression that the clerk would also have to help Bazza write his script, but this cannot be right, unless it is to type in 'And why not?' or 'Well, you might say, nothing wrong with that, it's a free country, but I can't help wondering if X wouldn't have done better to . . .' at regular intervals.
